2. Call the jail at 432-523-5545. Ask whether the booking closed, the date and time, the release type, and whether the destination was the community or another agency.
3. Use Texas IVSS-Counties for a matching county custody event or alert, then verify any notice with the sheriff.
4. Submit the sheriff's electronic request for the booking sheet, commitment and release entries, authority, destination, holds, bond data, and booking photograph.
5. Match the event to the County Clerk misdemeanor file or District Clerk felony file. Obtain the underlying order or judgment.
6. If the destination names TDCJ, BOP, USMS, ICE, or another county, continue with that custodian rather than calling the move a community release.

A precise request seeks an event record, not just an arrest report. The key is a booking identity linked to an actual release or transfer date. The following fields help distinguish people with similar names and explain what happened after the booking closed.

These are request targets based on ordinary jail-record concepts. They are not claimed as fields visible in the inaccessible Tyler portal. Ask for the booking photograph tied to the same booking if it is needed for identity confirmation. Disclosure can still be limited by juvenile confidentiality, expunction, nondisclosure, privacy, or a valid law-enforcement exception.

Note: A release code proves a custody event, while a court order explains the case action; strong verification uses both records.

Andrews Jail Records and Contact

The current county directory is the best source for the working campus contact. No public release-desk hours, discharge door, waiting area, or property-counter schedule was found. Call before driving to the facility and ask where pickup is allowed, whether the person has completed processing, and how property is returned.

The official open-records form accepts a requested-documents description, attachments, an electronic signature, and online submission. Give the full name and variants, date of birth if known, approximate booking range, and booking or case number. Ask for electronic copies and permission to narrow the request before substantial charges accrue.

Texas Government Code §552.221 requires prompt production within a reasonable time. It does not promise completion of every request within ten business days. If an estimate exceeds $40, §552.2615 calls for an itemized estimate. The sheriff form does not publish a special release-record or booking-photo price.

Andrews Jail Campus Record

The county's current directory lists 790 SE 401 for the sheriff and jail. A separate Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project record uses 700 SE 401 for a new sheriff's office and jail project scheduled from March 2019 through October 2020. It describes a 67,808-square-foot complex with an approximate cost of $23 million and marks the project closed.

Those street numbers serve different purposes. Use 790 SE 401 for current navigation and contact. Treat 700 SE 401 only as the project-era address in the construction history. Neither should be confused with the sheriff's downtown mailing address or the clerk offices on Main Street. The jail campus is the custody site; the clerk offices keep court records.

Older Andrews Jail Release Records

An online name can disappear long before the legal record is destroyed. Texas Local Schedule PS identifies minimum retention periods for local law-enforcement jail series. Series PS4200-06a makes the County Jail Register permanent. That summary record includes each committed person's name and sex, intake number, reason for confinement, and release or transfer date.

Series PS4200-10 covers prisoner incarceration records such as booking-in and booking-out forms, commitment papers, transport and transfer documents, and release orders. Its minimum is release or transfer plus two years. Series PS4200-12 applies the same minimum to property inventories and receipts. A pending request, claim, audit, suit, or other hold can extend retention. Retention does not make every page public, but it shows why an older closed booking may remain available offline.

Ask first for the permanent register entry. Then ask for the existing booking-out form and release or transfer order, rather than asking staff to create a new narrative. If the dispute concerns returned belongings, identify the property inventory and receipt tied to the booking. A transfer document to TDCJ can reconcile the county's closed event with later state custody.

Andrews Jail Release Pickup

No official source published a fixed release hour, exit door, family waiting spot, weekend procedure, property-return method, or transit stop for this jail. Release timing can also depend on the court order, bond processing, warrants, holds, and paperwork. A projected time is not confirmation that processing is complete.

Call 432-523-5545 before travel. Ask whether the person has actually left, which entrance or pickup point staff permit, whether identification is needed for property questions, and whether another agency took custody. Regional transportation material notes service gaps in Andrews but does not prove that a bus serves the jail. Do not send a family to the courthouse as though it were the release gate.
